Our Kindergarten teachers will be doing a Readiness Screening for the students.  If possible we would like to do the screening while the parents are filling out the paperwork.  We will use an appointment system for registration.  You and call the office 703.494.9153 for an appointment to register or we will also take walk-ins. 

Beginning 2/26/2009 the LRES automated Edulink System will make phone calls to the homes of students that have an unexcused absence for the day and students that arrive to school tardy and it is unexcused.  The tardy calls will be made from 11 to 11:30 a.m. and the absence calls will be made from 12 to 1 p.m. 

Please call the attendance line 703.494.2758 if your student will be absent or tardy to school.  If you do not call the attendance line you must send a note to explain the absence when the student returns to school.  

Students must be in the classroom, at their desk ready to begin the day by 8:45 a.m.  The only excused tardy reasons are if the student is sick and now feeling up to coming to school, an emergency situation, parent feels weather conditions delay the students arrival to school, or doctor or dental appointments.  Unexcused tardies are missed bus, just "late" arrival, traffic, etc. 

Kindergarten registration is coming up quickly.  Registration will be held on April 1 and April 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Registration packets will be available from the office after March 25. 
Items needed to register --
1.  Social Security Card
2.  Original Certified Copy of the Birth Certificate
3.  Complete Physical
4.  Immunization Record
5.  Proof of Residence
      1 of the following / mortgage or deed, rental lease agreement, or Affidavit of Residency.
      2 of the following / utility bill, voters registration card, car registration, drivers license, property tax bill, other pieces of mail with the parents name and new address shown. 

This required information is required to consider the registration complete.  The information must be turned in to the office before 8/21/2009.  You can go ahead and get the paper work completed and turn the other paper work requirements in at a later date.

In order to start making preperations for next school year (2009-10) we have sent home letters of intent.  The letters of intent were sent home with all students to help us see who will return to LRES on September 8, 2009.  

Students that are currently attending LRES on a transfer have also received the transfer request form.  The transfer form must be completed every year.  Space is VERY limited for transfers however, current transfer students are offered the first slots.  Transfer requests can only be approved by the principal until 4/30/2009.  After that all transfer requests will have to go to Dr. Walz for possible approval.
